Baby Talk has been supported by the KDHE Title V Local-to-Aid Grant since 2015. KDHE has also provided additional funding for the Health Equity Opportunity Project for our partnership with the Wichita Black Nurses Association.
Baby Talk was awarded a gift from Aetna Better Health of Kansas. Aetna Better Health of Kansas is a key supporter of maternal education literacy work. The partnership will expand the Baby Talk prenatal education program statewide to members residing in counties without a perinatal education opportunities.
Baby Talk is housed under the Department of Pediatrics for the University of Kansas. The Department also provides administrative and financial support for the program.
Baby Talk is one of the great programs housed under the Center for Research for Infant Birth and Survival (CRIBS). CRIBS was established in 2017 to focus its efforts on increasing the health and wellness of children in Kansas through research and programs focused on infant birth and survival.
Baby Talk was awarded a grant in 2022 from the Foundation. The Foundation has raised money for Kansas kids. The generous donation from the KS Children's Foundation will support Spanish classes and purchase technology that allows participants to attend who are unable to attend in-person.
The Wichita Open has partnered with the Department of Pediatrics since 2021. A portion of the proceeds from the Wichita Open has provided funding for expanded infrastructure, and research as well as an electronic program that allows us to better track our outcomes.
Baby Talk was awarded a grant from WMREF in 2022. The grant will provide healthy snacks for participants and their support person(s) during class.
Baby Talk was honored to be nominated by Davis-Moore for the Enterprise Holding Foundation Grant. The Enterprise Holding Foundation Grant provides funding to purchase safe and reliable infant car seats for Baby Talk participants.
Baby Talk is supported by Kansas Department of Health and Environment, the Center for Research for Infant Birth and Survival (CRIBS), and managed by the KU School of Medicine- Wichita Department of Pediatrics
